The Lake County Genealogical Society hears about the 1950 census

The next meeting of the Lake County Genealogical Society will be from 10 a.m. to noon, September 29.

The organization, which meets on the last Thursday of the month, will use Zoom due to the ongoing pandemic.

There will be a short business meeting followed by the speaker, Carla Cegielski, whose topic will be “Navigating The 1950 Census – Without the Index”. This program will introduce participants to all the information that can be found in a census, according to a press release.

“It’s amazing what you can find and how useful it is for your research,” the genealogy society said in the statement. “Carla will show us how to navigate the census form to find all the relevant information.”

There will be a brief Q&A session at the end of the presentation.

Cegielski is a full-time genealogical researcher, lecturer, and writer specializing in research in Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and has a particular interest in exploring and teaching others about document collections. underutilized, according to the statement.
