Until 2019, Raut was one of the top leaders of the BJP alliance. Suddenly the image changed and he was constantly attacked by the alliance and now by the opposition. In November 2019, following the Maharashtra Assembly elections, there was a dispute between the BJP and the Shiv Sena over the seat sharing formula, government formation in Maharashtra and who will be the minister in head of state. Sanjay Raut was one of the strongest voices in the Shiv Sena to demand their party to be Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He was not only firm on his stance, but he made it difficult for the BJP to play his typical tricks and traits. The engagement ended with the abolition of opposition forces and a tactical victory for the Shiv Sena to contest the power alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Indian National Congress (INC).
Sanjay Raut stood as a protector of the Thackeray family and their political interests, he fought by blocking the path of pursuers and made a determined defense against them. Perhaps this is why Sanjay Raut was seriously offended by the opposition by peddling all the lies. The BJP in opposition repeatedly tried to break through the barricades but were constantly disgusted. You have to realize that Raut is Shiv Sainik, mentored by his father who was ardent Shiv Sainik and the late Balasaheb Thackeray the founder of Shiv Sena, he is the son of Thackeray mavla (disturbing) in a real sense.
Narayan Rane mocks Raut
Narayan Rane is an old Shiv Sainik who tried his luck with almost every other political party before finding a place in the BJP in 2019. Rane was admitted to the BJP with the sole motive of demoralizing the leadership of Thackeray and Shiv Sena in general . However, his hatred for Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was evident in his attacks. Rane was also a biting critic of Sanjay Raut and was unflinchingly harsh towards Thackeray Raut’s family and friends. He often searches Rashmi and Aaditya Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray did not spare Rane and Sons and responded to them from time to time. While Sanjay Raut, known as the Brat of Shiv Sena, locked horns with them every time they tried to mess with the Thackeray family.
Rane said that Balasaheb praised him many times, but the fact is that there are hundreds of YouTube videos where Balasaheb mocked Narayan Rane. Rane was never respected or considered by Thackeray senior. When Narayan Rane was kicked out of the Sena, he not only remained in the public eye, but he also flaunted his grievances in front of TV cameras. As Thackeray announced Rane’s eviction at a meeting of Sena contractors and MPs at the Rang Sharda hall in Bandra, Rane reacted by addressing a press conference a stone’s throw from the outskirts of Mumbai where he accused the leader of Sena of putra prem (blind love for his son, Uddhav). Balasaheb never missed the chance to search Narayan Rane, he humiliated Rane by calling him Narya and so on.
Despite the dramatic backbiting, this so-called rebellion failed to attract attention. He then pursued Sharad Pawar to join the NCP, Pawar being a friend of senior Thackeray, denied Rane a fortune in his party. Then he bowed to the Congress leadership and managed to get in, but in no time he held a press conference attacking Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders. In the end, he had no other choice but to start his own party, but this party did not give him the existence he expected. Knowing his weaknesses, BJP hired him to open Morcha (verbal sparring) against Thackeray and Shiv Sena, assuming that being the former Shiv Sainik he might know some internal weaknesses of both. But the efforts were in vain with the arrests of the father and the son.
The BJP is courting Rane and his sons to increase their electoral base in the Konkan region. But so far Rane has engaged in attacks on leader Maha Vika Aghadi. At several press conferences, Rane has attempted to tarnish Sena’s image by calling it a violent party, stating that Uddhav lacks his father’s praiseworthy instincts, and recently taking deceptions about Sanjay Raut. While Sanjay Raut grew slowly and steadily in Shiv Sena, he is a three-time Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra. He was first elected to the Rajya Sabha of Maharashtra in 2004, and has been a member of the house ever since. Point of note, Raut’s elevation comes from Balasaheb and that’s why I call him a blue-eyed boy from Balasaheb Thackeray.
Raut was chosen by Balasaheb when he started his daily life in Marathi samana. He was appointed editor of political spokesman Shiv Sena. He writes articles for samana for more than three decades now. He was appointed as a member of the Home Affairs Committee and a member of the Civil Aviation Ministry Advisory Committee from October 2005 to May 2009 with Balasaheb’s approval.
He was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha of Maharashtra in 2010. Appointed a member of the Food, Consumption and Public Distribution Committee and the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Energy in 2010. Again, to the knowledge of Balasaheb. Raut not only gained the trust of Shiv Sena supremo, but also gained goodwill. Today, everything Narayan Rane says makes no sense. Raut was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha of Maharashtra in 2016, his term will end this year.
Allegations about Sanjay Raut
After the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, BJP leaning media channels and celebrities campaigned against Thackeray’s father and son on a very humiliating note. They were determined to prove that the suicide was a political murder linking him to the suicide of Disha Salian, another Bollywood entity. The Maharashtra government and the Mumbai police had to bear the brunt, at that time, only one man spoke out defending his party and the state police. There have also been a series of lawsuits against him for using unparliamentary words against the famous committed BJP activist. She went so far as to call Maharashtra Pakistan which angered the head of Shiv Sena and he called her “Haramkhor” i.e. one who wants things for free or with wrongdoing and does not want to put effort into earning them. By calling Kangana Ranaut a “Haram Khor” Raut fueled the controversy. Which Raut naively translated as “naughty”, but in reality, Kangana was making all the baseless accusations for her greed to be on the central government’s good books.
In 2021, a Marathi film producer, revealed in a series of tweets that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut threatened his mother with dire consequences, tortured his family and framed his friend who is the brother of recently arrested Pravin Raut in false cases. a woman took to Twitter to recount various instances of harassment. She accused the Mumbai police of doing her injustice, and this whole saga settled when she was kicked out of a renowned hospital for submitting fake certificates to get the job. She was in prison for a month, and somehow the attacks on Raut lessened over time.
Recently Palghar Police arrested her male friend in cheating case, later she was released on bail. The same person was arrested and jailed for allegedly attempting to assassinate Sujit Patker, the name repeated several times by Rane and Somaiya during their press conference. When the movie producers made allegations against Raut there was a series of media lawsuits by YouTubers and again most of the BJP leaning media portals but all of these attacks remained in vain as Raut was not very affected. The opposition thought of preparing its agenda on this subject, but in one way or another examining the merits of the allegations that it abstained in personal matters.
Recently, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, who is a Chartered Accountant by profession, is a two-time MP known for his political activism and propensity to be the BJP’s private investigator, filing right to information requests and to access official records to tackle political issues. rivals. Somaiya constantly targeted the Shiv Sena-led BMC for an alleged lack of transparency in the civic body’s dealings, and dared Shiv Sena chairman Uddhav Thackeray to publicly disclose his assets. Throughout the election campaign, Somaiya repeatedly alleged that the BMC was run by a “Bandra mafia” in a covert reference to Thackeray, whose home, Matoshree, is located in the suburbs. During the 2016 Dussehra, Shiv Sena employees allegedly assaulted Somaiya for his comments.
Another of Somaiya’s allegations was that Shiv Sena executives were using a shell company network, listing the names of seven such companies, to launder money earned from bribes in BMC contracts. Since the two parties split after the 2019 election, Somaiya has stepped up his attacks, questioning the allegedly illegal land holdings and built properties of a host of Shiv Sena leaders – from Ravindra Waikar to Anil Parab, l personal assistant to CM Thackeray, Milind Narvekar and the CM himself. .
Earlier this month, Somaiya had made allegations of corruption in the awarding of contracts for Covid care centers to a company owned by Raut’s assistant, Sujit Patker. The ED had also carried out searches at Patker’s residence and offices this month, in connection with the Patra Chawl land case, in which Pravin Raut, another side of Sanjay Raut, was arrested and the Sanjay Raut’s wife’s name has surfaced.
Sanjay Raut, wrote to Vice President Venkaiah Naidu alleging that the BJP was abusing central investigative agencies to target Shiv Sena leaders and their relatives, attempting to overthrow the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Uddhav Thackeray in Maharashtra. Over the past two years, the Enforcement Directorate has taken direct or indirect action against at least half a dozen leaders belonging to MVA parties. In several of these cases, Somaiya had publicly made allegations of corruption against the leaders.
Amid a massive show of force at Dadar’s Shiv Sena Bhavan, Sanjay Raut then spoke at a press conference, where he criticized Somaiya as “an agent of ED” and the “mastermind of the ‘Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank (PMC) scam’.
