Royal LePage Parksville-Qualicum Beach Realty donates $11,100 to Haven Society – Parksville Qualicum Beach News

Last year, Royal LePage Parksville-Qualicum Beach Realty successfully held fundraisers for an area women’s shelter despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Led by Team Susan Forrest, they were able to hold a bottle drive and garage sale that raised a total of $11,174.40.

The beneficiary of Royal Lepage’s efforts was the Haven Society, a community-based victim services program that serves the communities of Parksville and Qualicum Beach, providing refuge for women and children. A check presentation was held at the Royal Lepage office on February 23 in the presence of the Haven Society’s new Executive Director, Jan Ference, and Director Dawn Clark.

The fundraiser is organized in conjunction with Royal Lepage’s Shelter Foundation, which raises funds in support of women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. Richard Plowens said Royal LePage at Parksville Qualicum Beach has been an enthusiastic participant in this endeavor.

Forrest said all money raised benefits local organizations and programs.

“All the funds stay here,” said Forrest, who is grateful for the support they’ve received from the community during their fundraising initiatives.

Ference expressed his gratitude for the donation. The funds, she said, will be a great help for the programs and services the society provides to the community.
