Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene hires Milo Yiannopoulos as an unpaid intern

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has hired British right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos as an intern for her Capitol Hill office.

Mr. Yiannopoulos posted a photo of his congressional name badge on Telegram on Monday, saying he was working for a friend without pay.

“I was finally persuaded to leave my retirement,” Mr Yiannopoulos said. “But my skills are a bit rusty, so the best role I could land was an unpaid internship with a friend. Pray for me!”

Ms Greene, a Tory arsonist, said Mr Yiannopoulos had a unique personal story.

“So I have an intern who was raped by a priest as a young teenager, who was gay, offended everyone at one point, brought his life back to Jesus and the Church and changed his life. Great story!” Ms. Greene, Republican of Georgia, told the Daily Beast.

Mr Yiannopoulos rose to prominence in the early years of the Trump presidency, but disappeared after making remarks that appeared to defend pedophilia.

The former media figure recently came out as an ‘ex-gay’ last year, advocating the discredited practice of conversion therapy.

“I treat it like an addiction,” Yiannopoulos said, adding that he hopes people will pray for him.

Typically, internships on Capitol Hill are reserved for students and early-career individuals. Mr. Yiannopoulos, former editor of Breitbart News, is 37.
