According to Sky Germany, Barcelona are considering a move for VfB Stuttgart full-back Borna Sosa who is also reportedly wanted by Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are expected to be in the market for a left-back this summer, with Antonio Conte reportedly giving the club the green light to cash in on Sergio Reguilon (Football Insider).
SportBild journalist christian falk claimed in February that Sosa was one of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist, with the club facing competition from London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal for the 22-year-old.
The Croatia international has shown his attacking prowess at the Mercedes-Benz Arena this season, assisting eight times in all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).
If Sky Germany’s latest update is to be believed, Barcelona could also enter the race for Sosa before the summer.
The report reveals that a delegation from the Catalan giants were present to watch the left-back in action as Stuttgart took on Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.
It is claimed Barca are considering Sosa as a potential replacement for Jordi Alba and there is a €25m (£20.8m) release clause in the Stuttgart star’s contract.
Boosts web opinion
I expect Spurs to strengthen both wing departments this summer and Sosa certainly fits the bill for Conte’s system, given his impressive display and ability to take on players.
However, there would be some risk in signing the Croatian as it’s unclear how he will adapt to the intensity and physicality of the Premier League, where most wingers and full-backs are strong and fast.
