Pin-up calendar to raise funds for the Cancer Society

ELLSWORTH – On November 7, thirteen local women, three stylists and a photographer came together to recreate a 1950s pin-up-style calendar to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Amanda Clark of Dot’s Photography, along with Brandy Marchetti and Jaimie Paige, organized the dresses, hairstyles and makeup for each model of the month. This is the second year that this calendar has been created as a fundraiser, the first time in 2020.

The lives of the three women have been touched by a loved one who has battled cancer. Clark and Paige, who are cousins, lost their grandmother to cancer 11 years ago. His death prompted them to get involved with Relay For Life in Hancock County. Marchetti got involved with Relay For Life after moving to Hancock County. She lost her aunt to cancer in 2000 and her grandfather in 2016.

The calendar features women who have battled cancer or know someone who has battled cancer. Each of their stories can be read on their photo. Calendars cost $ 25 for an 8.5 x 11 inch calendar or $ 33 for an 11 x 14 inch calendar and can be purchased at www.createphotocalendars.com/Store/Pinups+for+a+Cure-2674326685. The goal is to sell 200 calendars with all proceeds going to the Hancock County Relay For Life.
