Mohammed el-Kurd becomes the Palestine correspondent of The Nation

The American review, The nation, announced that he had chosen Mohammed el-Kurd as his new “correspondent in Palestine” in a tweet on Tuesday.

Mohammed el-Kurd and his twin sister Muna are Palestinian activists of Sheikh Jarrah. The two men were arrested in June on suspicion of “participating in public disturbances and riots” and were released a few hours later.

One of Mohammed’s activist platforms is Twitter, where the veracity of his controversial tweets has often been disputed.

Last week, when six terrorists escaped from Gilboa prison, Mohammed rejoiced on Twitter, calling the terrorists political prisoners and calling for the abolition of prisons. Later, when two were captured, he called the terrorists “freedom fighters” and their capture “a heartbreaking development”

El-Kurd also expressed anti-American sentiments, calling the US military a “murderous terrorist organization” and US President Joe Biden a “successful criminal”. In a separate tweet, Mohammed expressed his hope that “PTSD will never cure” US troops.

Mohammed’s activism earned him a spot on Time’s 100 Most Influential People list alongside his sister Muna. He is joined on the list by others such as US President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
