Lorain County JVS announced this year’s chapter of the National Technical Honor Society. These 25 students are exceptional leaders who represent the best of the school district and their communities. This year’s class includes seven former sophomores and 18 new inductees, according to a school statement.
Lorain County JVS Superintendent Dr. Glenn Faircloth welcomed those in attendance saying, “It is an honor and a pleasure to celebrate our young people today. This time of year is always special for us here at Lorain County JVS because we can celebrate our students.
The ceremony included the traditional lighting of candles which symbolize NTHS values such as scholarship, skill, responsibility, citizenship, service, honesty and leadership.
New members received their NTHS certificates, and new and old senior members received purple and white graduation cords.
JVS Lorain County High School Principal Tina Pelto ended the ceremony saying, “Students, you truly are the best of the best and we are so proud of you. Congratulations!”

The NTHS honors students for outstanding achievement and success in professional technical education. Students are selected for membership based on qualities of citizenship, leadership, skill and scholarship.
The NTHS encourages high academic achievement, cultivates a desire for personal excellence, and helps motivated students succeed in today’s highly competitive job market, the statement said.
