Everton predicted XI for Premier League clash against Brentford

Everton prepare to host Brentford at Goodison Park on Sunday [May 15] for the Blues’ Premier League relegation clash.

A win is imperative with the Toffees’ top-flight status still uncertain as they sit just two points clear of Burnley and Leeds in 16and.

Frank Lampard will go full force against the Bees as they look to put as many points between Burnley and Leeds in the final three games of the season.

Jordan Pickford will start in net for the Blues. The former Sunderland man has been their best player for some time now, earning them a plethora of points with so many top-notch saves.

The 5-4-1 formation has worked wonders in recent games but just like the Watford game, the wingers will have the chance to attack the opposition.

Michael Keane maintains the center of defense in the absence of Yerry Mina – the England international will have Seamus Coleman [right] and Mason Holgate [left] next to.

Alex Iwobi has taken on his new role as a wing-back perfectly, the 26-year-old will once again be a substitute on the right side of defense with the possibility of advancing.

The left-back position will be filled by Vitaliy Mykolenko. After a rocky start to life in England, the youngster has really found his feet of late with his stunner in the win over Leicester as proof.

An injury at the worst possible time for Fabian Delph sees Allan back in the fold. The Brazilian will play in the heart of midfield alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure who has been a mainstay since returning from injury.

Although he’s been playing favorably up front and doing quite well recently, Richarlison will be backed up on the left wing. The striker’s energy and aggression will be crucial in countering Brentford’s fluid football.

Unsurprisingly, Anthony Gordon will be tasked with playing on the right wing. He’s been amazing since Lampard’s arrival and the former Chelsea boss will want to see the same toughness at the weekend.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin returns for his first start since April. The former Sheffield United striker has been protected of late as he returns to his best and with an appearance against Watford last time out he will be ready to start on top.

In other Everton news, Martin Keown says Everton face a ‘huge body blow’ in their ‘phenomenal’ relegation war.
