West Ham are interested in signing Everton target Robin Gosens from Inter Milan, a man who rejected Newcastle.
That’s according to Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport, who believe the Hammers are in a position to make Inter Milan a ‘rich’ offer for the Germany international.
West Ham and Everton fight for Gosens
Well, it was FC Inter News who revealed that Everton have made contact over a deal with Gosens.
Now the Toffees face competition from a familiar face in David Moyes.
Gazzetta dello Sport believe Gosens is fighting for his future at San Siro, despite only being involved in Gosens’ €25m (£22m) transfer from Atalanta in January 2022 .
According to CBS Sports, the 28-year-old turned down Newcastle in favor of joining the Italian giants.
Gosens has only made one Serie A start so far this season, with Federico Dimarco favored at left-back.
Gazzetta dello Sport believe Inter Milan’s No.8 must convince Simone Inzaghi that it’s worth keeping him at the San Siro ahead of the World Cup break or else a January exit is likely.
West Ham interest is bad news for Cresswell
In our opinion, Aaron Cresswell won’t appreciate hearing what Gazzetta dello Sport has to say.
Gosens was one of the best left-backs in Europe before his move to Inter Milan, registering 50 goals in 157 appearances for Atalanta, although it just didn’t work out for him at San Siro.
However, he is more than capable of returning to his best level in a new environment.
Clearly, West Ham are preparing an overhaul of the left-back department, so Cresswell – who has made 13 Premier League starts this season – is at risk of losing his position under Moyes.
Make sure to keep an eye on this situation as Everton are likely to push West Ham all the way for Gosens.
